an original movement theatre experience for the books

Conceived and performed by Abby Bender, Leah Crosby, and Danielle Doell

June 16-17, 2017 with encore performances September 8- 9, 2017

The Oak Bluffs Public Library, Martha's Vineyard

Using the library as a container for an audience’s immersive experience and as an inspiring environment for the artists to respond to, The Home Show’s nonlinear narrative explores themes of womanhood, belonging, and identity. It aims to underscore the ways in which art and comedy can help us find solace in an age of ceaseless chatter, distraction, violence and consumption. Through its use of text, movement, music and humor, the work loudly whispers and quietly screams in playful, unexpected ways about how “home” is less a physical place than a place we must ultimately carry within ourselves.

This Program was supported in part by a grant from the Martha's Vineyard Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
